Show Your Work. Share Your Work. Advance Science. That's OPEN SCIENCE.
At the Center for Open Science, we believe an open exchange of ideas accelerates scientific progress towards solving our most persistent problems. The challenges of disease, poverty, education, social justice, and the environment are too urgent to waste time on studies lacking rigor, outcomes that are never shared, and results that are not reproducible. How can you get started doing open research?
Preregister Your Study
If you have a project that is entering the planning or data collection phase, we'd like you to try out a preregistration. Through our $1 Million Preregistration Challenge, we're giving away $1,000 to 1,000 researchers who preregister their projects before they publish them.
Share Data, Materials or Code
Making your work openly visible to other researchers invites collaboration, allows others to benefit from and build on your work, and facilitates replication. Share your work today!
Share a Paper or Preprint
Sharing a paper or preprint on OSF accelerates scholarly communication, feedback that can improve the work, and discoverability of finished research. Try uploading a paper--it's extremely easy and fast.
How do we support open science globally?
We provide tools, training, support and advocacy for changes in incentives to make research investment go farther, faster.
Research and Data Infrastructure
COS has developed a variety of software tools, workflows and data storage solutions called OSF to help researchers manage, archive, discover and share research more openly.
COS helps identify, connect, educate, and support communities of researchers, their affiliated institutions, their funders, and the publishers of research outcomes.
Metascience and Research
COS supports and conductsresearch on scientific practices to help understand how to make research more effective at solving problems. Our team members are thought leaders on open science and our tools serve as critical research platforms.
